safeguarding forums with young people

asphaleia's Director of Health, Safety and Safeguarding has been running safeguarding forums with young people in our supported accommodation, and also our students in our further education and training provision.

This has involved a group of young people speaking to us about safeguarding and giving their feedback about how safe they are at asphaleia, asking questions like;

Do you feel safe at asphaleia?

Do you know who the Safeguarding Officer (SGO) is and how to contact him?

What more could we do to support you at asphaleia in terms of safeguarding, health and wellbeing?

We were extremely pleased to hear that 100% of young people who took part in these forums feel safe at asphaleia.

Safeguarding is the number one priority when it comes to the young people we work with. No matter what the aims of any service are, keeping children and young people safe takes pole position in our priorities.

Speaking to young people about safeguarding allows us to understand fully the impact our policies and practices are having and what their understanding is of any safeguarding information we're sharing. It also enables us to improve and develop our safeguarding measures, and how we communicate these to young people.

Thank you to all the young people who took part and engaged brilliantly!
