asphaleia training

asphaleia training is the largest venture at asphaleia offering a variety of learning programmes to young people. Our team aim to make a positive difference to any young person's life by offering qualifications, learning opportunities and support services to meet their individual needs. We see and believe in the potential of every young person who walks through our doors. Why? Because we love to see young people be successful and achieve, no matter where they have come from or what situations they are facing.

Your learning is a CHOICE, it's your CHOICE for the future.

We run learning centres across Sussex and West London that offer an alternative learning environment, open 52 weeks of the year, which may be more suited to the needs of young people who find mainstream education frightening or a struggle. We aim to enhance the delivery of education establishments by providing additional support for their young people who need it, to enable them to make a positive transition into further learning or work.

We offer learning that can lead to an accredited qualification at pre-entry through to level 2 as well as internally recognised certificates of achievement. Qualifications include Functional Skills (Maths, English, ICT), ESOL, Vocational Courses and Personal Development programmes. We also run personal development courses focusing on developing confidence, self awareness and self management.

Our learners progress onto further education, other training providers, apprenticeships and jobs. We help learners to overcome any barriers to learning with support with travel, equipment, clothes for interviews or specialist job equipment and our facilities are accessible for all learners with disabilities or specific needs. We will work to help any young person to create their programme for progression.

The team at asphaleia training believe that learning takes many forms and can stimulate confidence, personal growth and enjoyment of life. This is maximised when an individual makes choices and can recognise their own learning and progress.

Since its inception asphaleia training has already supported more than 800 young people and adults. Now in its sixth year delivering training programmes, asphaleia training has established five training centres/venues, one in West London and four in West Sussex. We also continue to provide training and mentoring support in a mobile capacity.

In the last two years, asphaleia training has secured four ESF contracts, a Foundation Learning contract with the YPLA, an Employability Skills Programme contract with the SFA and initiating a Near to Schools pilot programme for schools across West Sussex. asphaleia training also chairs the Sussex Area B Foundation Learning consortia - attended by Worthing College, Northbrook College and Connexions.
